The end of August is sneaking up on us. I have been working almost every day in our classroom to make sure that it is an inviting place that all of us can enjoy. On that note, I cannot wait to see you all in a little over a week. I hope that you are enjoying your last little bit of summer, and that you are starting to prepare yourselves to come back to school.
This year is going to be a bit different than any other year of school you have had. We do many fun and exciting things in fifth grade, but we also work VERY hard.
Here is an overview of what we will be doing in the first few weeks of school:
Math: Reviewing and extending on place value
Science: Astronomy
Religion: Jesus and his life
ELA: We will kick off the year doing many ELA activities. including starting our class read aloud!
Social Studies: An overview of the United States, Canada and Latin America. Then we will focus on the United States and Canada for the first half of the year, and Latin America for the second half of the year.
